The backstage of the New York Public Library, on CineStill 800T

I got the rare chance to go to backstage, and took some nice and exclusive shots for you!

Last week I was invited to give a talk at the NYPL, and I got the rare chance to go to their backstage, the part that nobody seens, past the Rose Reading Room and down into the stacks where the cart system shuttles books through the building like a hidden circulatory system, right under the Bryant Square park.

Shooting CineStill 800T in there felt right, the tungsten lights bouncing off metal shelves, that signature halation glowing around every bulb in the dark corridors. Funny how the reading room gets all the attention but the real magic is in the machinery behind it, the Arabic boxes, the Valentine's Manuals from the 1920s, books from 1860, the endless rows of newspaper. Huge thanks to the Kimi who let me see it all.
