THIS is why I think more people need to make video in their own way. Hearing you getting choked up has made my day!!!

Thank you so much! I agree, I think video was the only way I found to express my emotions thought this whole process, written words wouldn't pass the excitement I wanted to share. I'm glad I somehow made your day more beautiful. Thank you for all the support always! The storytelling is just at the beginning, I recently reshaped my content to be more storytelling based and less technical based. When I have 50+ stories, they get easy to convert to a book :)

Happy that this resonated with you and the family Raf!

First, a big congrats to your wife: what a rock star!!! Then, of course, that shot is, as you say, so great: telling such a detailed story with added nuance(especially to those with the personal connection and knowledge of the subjects). A perfect moment in time. I have never heard of the idea of Punctum, thanks for sharing.

This is a really interesting post, I have always perceived Punctum as universal. In other words I say first man on the moon and you immediately have a photograph in your mind's eye. I say Oklahoma City bombing, you see a firefighter with a dead child. I say Vietnam War napalm and you see a naked girl running down the middle of the road.... I never thought of Punctum being personal. Interesting. Thank you for your post!

Very cool! Thanks for your comment, Søren! Yeah, these photographs you mentioned are filled with punctum. One that always gets me is the eyes of Sharbat Gula in the National Geographic cover. It has lots of punctum elements to me!

Absolutely loved this post! The story, the photo, the arts, the thesis behind it... Perfect and lovely! Art, emotion and technique! Bravo!

Thank you so much, my friend! Yeah. Following your suggestions, I am now focusing more on the stories behind the shots, rather than the technical information :)

Thanks, your feedback made a real difrerence here!
