They are mechanically quick-witted. Sometimes the camera doesn't shoot, and I always think it's broken, then it's because there's a little lever or button somewhere that is preventing dumnbess from reaching the emulsion in an innapropriate way. Medium format and leaf shutter is not as simple as 35mm film cameras, and the Mamiya's design is simply incredibly smart.
